Our Story so far...
Gabriel and Mike first crossed paths in the fall of 2008 during their first semester at Kent State University. After graduating in the spring of 2012, they officially began freelancing, working on small design and advertising projects. Their earliest project was to create a billboard and newspaper ads for an Italian festival in Cuyahoga Falls, marking the beginning of what would eventually become JAC Creative (then known as Johnson and Caparanis).
As their client work expanded, they recognized the need for additional development expertise and reconnected with longtime colleague Andrew. By the spring of 2013, the three were fully invested in the business, working out of their homes and building the foundation of the agency. On April 16, 2013, JAC Creative was officially founded.
In 2015, JAC entered a City of Cleveland small business competition focused on economic development in the Old Brooklyn neighborhood. With guidance from friend and mentor Gina Goodwin, the team developed a formal business plan and was selected as one of the competition’s winners. The resulting grant made it possible for JAC to open its first office, right in the neighborhood they already called home.
The JAC PACK
The years that followed brought steady growth. JAC hired its first full-time employee in the winter of 2018 and continued expanding its services and team. By the following summer, the agency had grown into its current office space. In the spring of 2023, JAC Creative proudly celebrated ten years in business—a milestone reflecting the company's growth, trusted partnerships, and a commitment to doing thoughtful, meaningful work.
